SHADEWORX WARRANTY

Hudson Shadeworx offers an industry-leading warranty.
Hudson Shadeworx warrants that its product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship and will maintain structural integrity for the periods listed below from the date of invoice and once full payment has been received. This warranty applies only if the product has been assembled and installed according to
Hudson Shadeworx’s setup instructions, sound construction practices, and has only been subjected to normal use and exposure.
Warranty Coverage Summary:
  • Lifetime Warranty: * All stainless-steel hardware
  • 20-Year Limited Warranty: Steel shade framework
  • 10-Year Limited Warranty: Shade fabric
  • 5-Year Limited Warranty: Powder coat
  • 1-Year Limited Warranty: Shade cable, and other materials not listed above
Exclusions:
Warranty does not cover abnormal conditions, cosmetic defects (scratches, dents, fading, etc.), vandalism, misuse, exposure to extreme weather, immersion in salt/chlorine water, or any unauthorized repair/modification. It also excludes damage from “acts of God” such as hail, flooding, tornadoes, etc.
Hudson Shadeworx is not responsible for defects caused by improper installation, harsh conditions, lack of maintenance, or improper storage prior to install. We reserve the right to void the warranty if our installation instructions aren’t followed or if unauthorized modifications are made.
In the event of product failure, Hudson Shadeworx may repair or replace the defective part(s), and reserves the right to alter design, color, or materials to prevent recurrence.
Restrictions:
  • No changes, modifications, or attachments may be made without written consent
  • No signs, lights, ornaments, or decorations may be hung without written approval
  • This warranty excludes any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for purpose
  • Hudson Shadeworx is not liable for indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages
Claims Process:
The owner must notify Hudson Shadeworx in writing info@hudsonshadeworx.com with the original sales order number within 30 days of discovering any defect and before attempting any repairs or modifications. This warranty is void if alterations are made to the design without approval.
Structural Steel Warranties:
  • Shade: 20-year Limited Warranty against rust-through corrosion. Free replacement parts for the first 10 years, then pro-rated at 10% annually over the next 10 years.
  • Workmanship (Steel): 5-year warranty. Void if damage is due to installer, salt spray, chemicals, vandalism, or acts of God.
Powder Coat Warranty:
Hudson Shadeworx offers a 5-year Limited Warranty for factory-applied powder coating. Defects must be reported immediately after installation. Not covered: field modifications, shipping damage, or acute angle/weld/end plate defects.
Performance after 5 years (ASTM Standards):
  • ∆E <7.5 (high chroma), ∆E <5.0 (low chroma)
  • Minimum 50% gloss retention
  • No worse than chalking rating of 6
Shade Fabric:
Traditional PTFE fiber shade fabric carries a 10-year limited warranty for thread defects.
All other shade fabrics have a 10-year limited manufacturer’s warranty for failure due to fading**, breakdown, and weather exposure. Free fabric for the first 6 years, pro-rated at 18% annually for the next 4 years.
Note: Red and yellow fabrics are warranted against significant fading for only 2 years. Shade fabric must be correctly installed with both corner holes and straps in place. Not covered: flat panels, valences, or non-Hudson Shadeworx structures.
Fabric warranty is void if exposed to chemicals, vandalism, or extreme conditions. Fabric tops are rated for sustained winds up to 76 mph and gusts up to 90 mph. Must be removed in high wind seasons. Snow/ice damage not covered.
Structural wind warranties (90 or 105 mph) apply only if fabric is removed by an authorized installer. Any modification to rafters voids the warranty.

Cancellation & Return Policy

Manufacturer fabricates most of its products “made to order.” These items are often based on the client’s budget, design wishes, and color selection.
Due to the high customization of products, to return an item one must contact info@hudsonshadeworx.com and receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Hudson Shadeworx will not be responsible or accept returns without an RMA and any shipping costs incurred for unauthorized returned shipments will be the responsibility of the customer. All returns must be in the original packaging, must be in new condition, and must include manufacturer documents and installation manuals.
Any product that is deemed ‘customized’ or ‘special order’ may not be returned. All items must be returned within 30 days of the original shipment date. Additionally, no items with a total value of $50 dollars or less may be returned. A minimum 25% restocking fee will apply to all orders. Please note that for any authorized RMA orders, an additional 15% handling fee could apply for returns depending upon the initial complexity and customization of the order and final acceptance for any returns is the sole discretion of supplier. The customer will be responsible for all original freight charges, return freight charges, and additional shipping and handling fees, and applicable taxes. The customer care representative issuing the RMA will advise you of the address to which your return will be sent to.
The following do not qualify for returns or partial refunds:
  • Items without a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
  • Any highly custom or made-to-order structure, equipment, shade, shelter, or site amenities.
  • Any item where the cost is below $50.
  • Any damaged equipment which has already been replaced with the same item at no cost.
  • Promotional or display items given at no charge or highly reduced discount.
  • Any equipment that has been partially assembled or installed, either completely or partially.
  • Items returned more than 30 days past the original date of receipt by the customer.
  • Items attempting to be returned: ‘freight collect.’

Unloading: With freight, it is the truck driver’s responsibility to move the freight to the back of the truck but not to offload the item(s). Some services such as lift-gate and inside delivery may be available at an additional charge. These special services must be requested before shipment to avoid incurring re-delivery charges.
Damages & Shortages: You are responsible to count the freight and note any and all shortages on the delivery receipt. All damages to packing must be noted on the delivery receipt with a brief description. These notes must be made before signing the receipt. If equipment is missing from your order or damaged and not noted on the delivery receipt, please call us within 24 hours so we may try to assist in finding the missing items or filing a concealed damage claim on your behalf.
NOTE: The trucking company is only liable for your goods if noted on the delivery receipt.
Example Note on Delivery Receipt: One carton is damaged and three cartons are short.
Special Note: If you do not sign the delivery receipt short or damaged when the condition exists, we cannot file a claim, and the replacement items become your financial responsibility.

Shipping Policy

There may be instances where special delivery arrangements are required and it is best to request additional services (such as liftgate, residential, limited access, etc.) when placing your order. Please advise Customer Service Department of any additional delivery requirements that were not requested at the time of order so we may authorize the charges.
It is the CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY to verify the delivery is for the correct product. Count the number of pieces and inspect for damages PRIOR to signing the proof of delivery provided by the driver. All discrepancies or visible damage MUST be notated on the delivery receipt. Signing for delivery without noting any damages or issues on the receipt legally indicates you received your delivery in good condition. All delivery discrepancies including damages must reach our service department listed on the delivery receipt within 72 hours of delivery. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE replacement parts or product free of charge due to concealed or unreported damage. Additionally, leaving a note and/or instructions for the driver is the same as signing for your products in good condition. We will not be held liable if you authorize the carrier to leave freight without a signature.

  • Delivery times are estimates; if you require your shipment to be delivered by a certain date and/or time, a Guaranteed Delivery quote must be requested.
  • Please notify the Freight department immediately if you prefer to arrange your own transportation. Orders are subject to a storage fee of $50.00 per day and per order if not picked up within three (3) business days upon receipt of notification.
